Updated: 23.03.2021
Case description:

9 people detained
6 people October 11, 2017
1 person May 5, 2018
2 people May 21, 2018
The persons involved in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case are accused of organizing or participating in the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which is recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation. In Ukraine, the activities of the organization are not prohibited. Most of the detainees are civic activists. The basis for the accusation of the defendants is the testimony of representatives of the power structures of the Russian Federation or persons who are in hostile relations with the accused. There is no evidence in the case of the involvement of the persons involved in the case in terrorist acts or their preparation. The detainees say about inhuman conditions of detention and limited access to medical care. Statements of the Russian authorities about the detention of another group of "terrorists" in Crimea create an atmosphere of fear on the peninsula. Through this case, the occupation authorities justify the constant illegal searches of Muslim homes. These facts allow us to speak about politically motivated persecution and persecution on a religious basis.
The “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” is divided into several separate cases according to the place and date of detention.
